SUNAPEE, NH: Mt. Sunapee Resort ski instructor and Sunapee resident Nancy Peck was recently named by Lange Ski Boots USA their popular “Lange Girl” for New Hampshire, according to Lange’s brand director Tait Wardlaw.
Lange Girl Athelete, as the program is formally known, celebrates women who embody healthy, happy, ski lifestyles by showcasing female athletes who are active, athletic dynamic skiers, who are beautiful physically, mentally, and emotionally; who inspire women to ski and live the ski life; and who ski in Lange.
Peck, a professional corporate director for the American Cancer Society, grew up in Vermont and began her athletic career from an early age. She started her professional ski career as a member of the Killington ski patrol, spending ten years caring for the injured at one of America’s best known mountains. For the past six years she has taught at the Mount Sunapee Resort Learning Center and is a level 2 member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA). Peck is an avid bump skier and glade runner, known for her friendly smile and positive demeanor as an ambassador for outdoor recreation and sports of all types.
“The Lange brand is all about the dynamic, athletic aspect of skiing,” says Wardlaw. “Around the world, we have some amazingly talented women athletes who deserve recognition for their skiing ability as well as for their ability to inspire other women to make the most of their natural abilities as well.”
As Nancy Peck joins the Lange team in New England, she fits the Lange Girl Athlete profile not only an avid, passionate skier, but also an accomplished marathon runner, Iron Man competitor, road bike racer, and multi-sport competitive athlete. Regularly a competitor in such marathons as the Boston Marathon, the Disney Marathon, and the Chicago LaSalle Bank Marathon, Nancy brings to her athleticism a sense of pride, positive outlook, and passion to encourage and mentor other women to take up a sport and become the best you can at that endeavor.
Mt. Sunapee co-workers and fellow PSIA members reinforce her selection as Lange Girl New Hamphire when they comment “When you ski with Nancy, no matter for one run or for the entire day, you have fun, ski hard, and are often chasing the buns down the hill! She’s the best female bump skier on our staff and a great ski buddy!”
Lange Ski Boots, the most successful and popular boot brand in the history of ski competition, is almost as well known for its annual “Lange Girl” posters, adorning the back of ski shops around the world for more than 30 years.
Peck resides in Sunapee year round on a lake, and also enjoys water skiing, outdoor photography, mountain biking, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends enjoying the good life.
