Discovering the Rower: A Humble Beginning

My journey in the world of indoor rowing commenced with a modest birthday gift to myself – a Concept2 rower for my 54th birthday. What began as an ordinary purchase unfolded into an extraordinary odyssey of self-discovery, determination, and triumph.

Pandemic Revival: Embracing the Challenge

Initially, my interactions with the rower were sporadic; I logged a few kilometers here and there. However, the onset of the pandemic encouraged me to reignite my passion for the machine. Soon, I found myself competing in the CRASH Bs, clinching second place in my age category in 2020. This accomplishment fueled my competitive spirit and motivated me to wholeheartedly dedicate myself to the sport.

Monumental Triumphs: Rise to Victory

The year 2022 marked a significant turning point in my journey. It witnessed monumental achievements as I emerged victorious at the CRASH Bs and claimed the gold at the World Indoor Rowing Championships. These triumphs represented more than just medals; they stood as testaments to the unwavering dedication and relentless effort I invested in honing my skills and pushing the boundaries of my capabilities.

Continued Success: A Year of Spectacular Achievements

In 2023, the momentum continued as I proudly stood atop the podium as the World Indoor Rowing Champion, securing gold in the 2000 meters event and a silver medal in the 500 meters category. Additionally, I triumphed once more at the CRASH Bs in Boston, earning the gold medal and the illustrious hammer.

Breaking Records: A Testament to Dedication

Beyond podium finishes, I am honored to hold the Heavyweight (HWT) age 55-59 female World Record for the half marathon, 30 minutes, and 4 minutes. Additionally, I’ve achieved an impressive NINE American Records in indoor rowing, ranging across various distances. Notably, on the SkiErg, I’ve secured the 5K, 6K, and 30-minute American records, reflecting countless hours of dedication and perseverance.

A Coach’s Calling: Sharing Knowledge and Inspiring Growth

Beyond personal achievements, my passion for rowing has evolved into a desire to coach and mentor. The joy of sharing knowledge, guiding aspiring rowers, and witnessing their growth is unparalleled. My journey from novice to champion has equipped me with insights and a deep understanding of the sport that I am eager to pass on.

A Coach’s Vision: Beyond Medals

As an indoor rowing coach, my passion extends beyond winning medals. It’s about instilling values like discipline, resilience, and the unwavering belief that dedication leads to achievement. My aspiration is to inspire others to unlock their potential through the sport.

Conclusion: The Transformative Journey

Indoor rowing has been transformative, taking me from a modest beginning to breaking records and standing victorious. It has been demanding yet immensely rewarding. My passion for this sport burns brighter than ever, and I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter as a coach, eager to share my experiences and help others in their rowing pursuits.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
