Today marks 18 weeks before the 2014 Boston Marathon. As my first post to my new blog I wanted to share my upcoming training program that I hope to be sticking too. It is quite a do-able plan I found on Hal Higdon\’s website with complete explanation and support of the process. My first Chicago I used Hal\’s training to get me to my 3:14 and hope to duplicate that effort this year. I have high goals for this year\’s Boston marathon marking my 10th Boston and 30th marathon! This plan will start on January 27th and my days off will most definitely be the weekend days i am going to see Schuyler\’s races. I will have to juggle when I get in the long run midweek. But I know I can make it happen.
Being a part of the WMDP women\’s team truly has me inspired to run stronger and this is my highlight race of the year. So time to kick it in! Definitely tough to train in the winter with ski coaching at Stowe Mountain Resort and running in the snow! But that is what makes us New England girls tough!
For now putting in moderate miles with an occasional double digit run. Ski coaching on the weekends cuts into my running training time, but it keeps me fit as well!
What is your training look like for the new year?
Let\’s keep running!
